Multichoice To Increase DSTv, GOTv Subscription Fee In Nigeria, Others

Multichoice, a South African based company has planned to increase subscription fee across all its satellite TV channels – Dstv, GOtv in Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi and Tanzania come September 2021.

According to sources, the broadcasting giant has already affected the subscription charges in other African countries, in the last 6 months.

The subscription packages come with a 10% addition, with premium packages going as high as N21,000, compact plus will be above N14,000, and GoTv Max will go slightly above N4,000.

In another report, the company had sent messages to subscribers, saying the Premium Bouquet will now be costing Sh145,000 (as opposed to the former Sh139,000), the Compact Plus tariff plan will cost Sh93,000 (formerly Sh89,000), and the Compact tariff plan will cost Sh51,000 (formerly Sh49,000) for the monthly subscription packages.

For Multichoice Kenya, price increase ranging from 5%-9% will be implemented for Dstv and GOtv customers, starting from September 1, 2021. Customers using Premium Tariff plan will pay KES 8,400 per month (as opposed to the former KES 7,900), the Compact plus will increase from KES 4,800 to KES 5,100, and Compact package will increase from KES 2,650 to KES 2,800. The DStv family package will now cost KES 1,500 (formerly 1,380), while the Dstv access package will cost KES 1,050 (formerly KES 1,000).

Multichoice South Africa Customers had already experienced a 1%-6% price increase since Thursday April 1st, 2021. Premium, Compact and Compact plus came with an extra monthly R10 to become R829, R409 and R529 respectively. The DSTV family package went from R279 to R295, while Dstv Access became R115 from R110.
