Customers can easily pay for their shopping expenses using the EasyScan feature found on the Standard Bank Mobile App.

With this new service, customers who are registered users of the bank’s mobile app can easily go to any pick n pay outlet and scan the QR code, making payments through the app.

Speaking on the new launch Kabelo Makeke — a spokesperson for Standard Bank — disclosed, “Anyone can make payments using EasyScan provided that they own a Standard Bank Account.”

“All our customers have to do is download and install the Standard Bank Mobile Banking App on their Android or iOS devices. This will enable customers to use this efficient, cardless and safe system of payment. Our mobile banking app also allows customers to make shopping payments even when they do not have data on their smartphones.”

Standard Bank also announced its collaboration with Pick n Pay to create in-store branches for the bank across selected Pick N Pay outlets.

These in-store branches will possess the advantages of both physical and online banking, allowing easy access to financial services that seek to provide adequate customer satisfaction.

“EasyScan enables customers to pay for shopping expenses via their banking app. That is to say, customers can continue to make purchases even when they are not with their wallets. Using the EasyScan feature on the Standard Bank app, all purchases made by customers will immediately reflect on the statement, that way, customers can monitor their funds more effectively,” Makeke said.

A spokesperson person for Pick n Pay — Mr. John Bradshaw — also made comments about their partnership with Standard Bank.

“Our customers love efficient services and the EasyScan feature is a new means of promoting their shopping experience. They do not have to always carry their cash or cards wherever they go to, and interestingly, they do not have to make any contact during transactions.”
