Today’s innovative experience reports the strategic partnership between Airtel Nigeria and Konga to bolster the West African digital retail ecosystem. Both technology companies have reportedly focused their services on developing the internet whereby the Nigerian telecom giant sells data bundles to surf the internet browsing through Konga’s e-commerce retail chain of consumer products.

For context, Airtel and Konga signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding to innovate the digital retail landscape in Nigeria. The ceremony was hosted by the Nigerian telecom giant’s headquarters located in Banana Island, Lagos State. Airtel’s Chief Commercial Officer, Godfrey Efeurhobo confirmed the Konga deal is schemed to enrich the lives of Nigerians as well as enhance their horizons to unlimited opportunities connecting Nigerians via Airtel’s telecommunications.

“This partnership affirms our resolve to make life better, more enjoyable, and more fun for our 50m+ customers as we connect them to places, platforms, people, services, offerings, and opportunities that can transform their lives,” Efeurhobo revealed the significance of this partnership that could be available online and offline, and ubiquitous affordable for every Nigerian that can access the compact Airtel shares with Konga.

We are not only building quality and prestigious networks for voice and mobile Internet services. We are also pioneering and inspiring a new wave that will position us as the preferred partner for everything digital, e-commerce, entertainment, lifestyle, productivity, entrepreneurship, sports, etc. — Airtel’s CCO, Godfrey Efeurhobo

The Konga and Airtel partnership are ideal to push the Nigerian social network above the trendy phase. The Konga retail chain network rules the e-commerce ecosystem in Africa connecting diverse merchants, and customers in line with the available service posted for the offering. Konga’s mode of business is in alliance with Airtel’s system of connecting people as well as empowering stakeholders and customers with its broadband connectivity that is influenced by technology innovation

As expected, Airtel and Konga’s partnership will help users access the preferred deal to rival other expensive e-commerce outlets. Airtel subscribers will be awarded or suggested the best Konga deals at affordable prices with home delivery services inclusive within the axis of Nigeria. Efeurhobo was assisted by the MD/CEO of Airtel Nigeria, Surendran Chemmenkotil who gained office towards the end of 2021. The Konga digital retail deal is the first Chemmenkotil has assigned while on the seat as Airtel’s Nigeria CEO and MD.
