Microsoft has launched its subsequent cybersecurity agency for hire — the Microsoft Security Expert program is designed to provide cybersecurity as a service for corporate affairs. The Microsoft Security Expert program is relatively similar to the existing Microsoft Insider Program designed to assemble autonomous developers to share innovative ideas to accelerate the Windows operating system development.

Microsoft announcement encourages SMEs and other corporate organizations to indulge in hiring the Microsoft Cybersecurity Agent to counter possible ransomware threats and cyberattacks on business confidentiality. Microsoft is enthusiastic about dashing out its cybersecurity agents for a price that is also in line with the intentions of establishing Microsoft as a software developer and cybersecurity company.

Microsoft is aware of the outraged relapses in the cybersecurity ecosystem across the world. Although Microsoft has experienced several unprecedented cybersecurity breaches overtime, Microsoft continues to thrive in blocking other cyberattacks sent with high-end technology applications. Microsoft continues to boast about the billions of phishing hacks and other kinds of zero-day loopholes hackers are liable to exploit in their arsenal.

According to Microsoft, the cybercrime industry has looted several trillions of digital assets across the globe which will increase tenfold in the next half a decade if the cybersecurity agency is not established by Microsoft. Just as the global number of cybercriminals increases daily, Microsoft also intends to reciprocate the same strategy to regulate the cybersecurity industry by deploying multiple cybersecurity professionals.

Microsoft vice president V. Jakkal confirmed Microsoft’s indulgence in accelerating the cybersecurity ecosystem with skilled cybersecurity agents. “It’s getting harder every day for organizations to build and maintain a full security team, let alone one with the ever-expanding skillset required to meet the range of today’s security demands.”

Jakkal’s comment is relentless to utilise his company’s resources in innovating the global cybersecurity sector. Microsoft’s keenness to innovate the cybersecurity ecosystem with the availability of experts for hire tends to give Nigeria an edge to tap into Microsoft’s resources to drive digital innovation via the data centre Microsoft launched in Lagos.

Microsoft is keen to sell high-end cybersecurity services for a given price. Microsoft Security Expert program also poses as a scheme for the software developer to participate in the competitive cybersecurity providers ecosystem participated by the likes of IBM and SecureWorks and other cybersecurity titans.

The Microsoft Security Expert program also poses as a strategic scheme to help Microsoft gain intel on how hackers develop and exploit the zero-day vulnerability attached to Microsoft products, including Office 365, Microsoft Defender, etc. In a provision for a high-end Security system, Microsoft release a toolkit alongside the cybersecurity initiative christened “Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise.” The Microsoft data centre in Nigeria is entitled to access this toolkit to enhance the intended use of the $100m data centre.
