Malawi’s digital ecosystem embraces digital inclusion for its homegrown population as the Malawian government debuts its state-owned data center in Blantyre. The Malawian National Data Center stationed in the country’s largest city will give the Malawian population an upper hand in processing technology-inclined issues. The Malawian government partnered with Huawei to establish the National Data Center in Blantyre.

The Malawian National Data Center development also assented the homeland Ministry of Digital Transformation in establishing the high-end digital infrastructure that currently uplifts the Malawian status quo to be technologically oriented.

The newly established data center in Blantyre is focused on driving digital inclusion across the country at an accelerated pace having stationed the state-owned data center in a significant location responsive to massive commercial activities. The Malawian National Data Centre is established to connect the indigenous population with the Internet of Things (IoT) integration to everyday activities, artificial intelligence applications, machine learning applications, and technology modification suitable for high-end integration, etc.

The Malawian National Data Center is said to be built with high-end technology since the government partnered with the Chinese technology giant, Huawei – the Chinese technology company that is eminent for building and distributing high-end chips across the world. The Malawian government is keen on developing the digital economy debuting the National Data Center in the second largest city in Malawi to enhance secure data coordination to resolve variant projects.

The Malawi president Lazarus Chakwera affirmed his office’s commitment to establishing the data center in Blantyre which upholds a futuristic agenda in cultivating an approach to skilled data management and application of digital programs to elevate Malawi digital-wise. Malawi’s Chakwera said that the established data center in Blantyre will leverage digital inclusion that is built specifically for FinTech applications.

The Malawian government’s inclusive digital initiative targets multiple preys with a bullet whereby the inclusive digital data center will bolster the digital economic growth as well.

“The Malawian data center is a critical building block in the digital future Malawi is building, and will enable the government to cut down costs by enhancing coordination between different projects, and better manage and secure data that is critical for decision making and the implementation of many programs.” Chakwera said that the “National Data Centre, we can guarantee security information to those we invite to invest in our manufacturing, financial, retail, and service sectors, thus making Malawi a location of choice for investors.”

The Malawian Information Communication and Technology sector possesses the significant toolkit to accelerate technology penetration in Malawi. The Malawian federal government is aware about the beneficiaries debuting the data center possess likewise the disadvantages of yielding higher expenditure.

Chakwera revealed that the National Data Centre will increase the deployment of technology application such as employable cloud services to back up broadband connections that powers the National Data Centre. Deploying a top-tier data center in Malawi will exhibit “robust ICT infrastructure with cross-country coverage of reliable and affordable services fostering technological adoption and digital access.”
